I have two sites that I would like to talk about.

1) site has a page rank of 2 and 3 backlinks. This site is dead, but it's still a PR2. It's connected with 1 PR5 site.


2) Has 4-5 forum posts per day and a lot of traffic. It has been around for sveral years and is not banned in google. I have my link on a few PR3 & PR5 sites that are the same type as mine. However, for some reason this site is still a PR0.


Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get at least a PR1?

For some reason Google may see your links as un-natural (i.e. created just to improve PR). In that case they may give them much lower priority and that may be why your second site is still on PR0. I suggest you start a blog and write a couple of posts about your site, that should get the PR to rise.

The first site must really have good quality links to it since Google seem to like it a lot (otherwise you would have lost the PR). I suggest you quit complaining and develop a site . Maybe you should setup a blog at that domain and blog about your second site to spread the PR juice a little bit.

Some experts claim you should look too much at the number after PR, because low PR pages may still show up high in some search results today. In the old days PR meant everything, but it's not sure any more since it looks like Google changed its algorithms.

I advise, don't on PR. Focus on high rank in Google SERP's.

Good point bylla, but it could be an other explication... How old the site is? Maybe Google stats is not yet updated for that site.

i see the problem is that you need more backlinks

just try to build quality links and wait till the google ranks the websites. I think your site has not problem, so far.

If there are good links, then there are bad links, too? How will I know if I posted on a good site or on the bad site? I want to know, so that I can do the right thing. Thank you for sharing this. Are there sufficient KPO or BPO or any outsourcing sites today? Thank you for sharing this to us.

There are several factors effecting PR. Backlink is one factor. You need high number of backlinks to get a PR. But if you have high quality links, you will still get a better PR.
